I am attending Emily Carr University in Vancouver,
BC and am 1 year away from receiving my degree in Interaction Design.
The focus of my studies revolved around game design.
Yet, I still have plenty of experience with UX/UI design,
website creation, and 3D modelling and, I have worked superficially with animation.
My experience with game design centers on Unity, however, I am developing
my skills with other platforms, namely Unreal Engine 5. With my handling
of Unity, I have also dabbled in AR and other platforms that use AR such
as Spark Studios and Aero. The details of my expertise in each of these
platforms can be viewed in the “All Projects” section of this website.
I moved to Canada in 2007 with my mom, dad and brother.
My brother is a year and a half younger than me. My brother
and I were born in Dubai and moved between Dubai and India
frequently. This was because my parents worked in Dubia but
had family in India and would make frequent trips to visit.
We then moved to Canada, since my mom had an uncle who lived
there and she wished to give my brother and me a better
life. I don't remember much since before Canada, having
only been 3 when I first arrived here. However, I am
extremely grateful for the life my parents have given
me here in Canada.
Te Queen Sharpen
The name is a combination from multiple sources in my life,
and is used as my handle on multiple platforms. (although there might be variations)
Te Queen comes from my first time playing pokemon go, where I wanted the name Elizabeth.
However, "The Queen Elizabeth" was too big a username by 1 letter. So I dropped the "h" in "the"
"Sharpen" is alot easier to explain, because it comes from google auto correcting my name
"Shareen" to "Sharpen" since its only 1 letter off. Google kept autocorrecting so
the name stuck.
The logo is my version of a design a friend had created back in highschool. once I
told them my username is "TeQueenSharpen" they then felt the need to create a logo.
I use the username for most platforms since I generally dont feel comfortable
sharing my name publicly, and the abriviation was what I use to sign some of my physical artworks.
